Do you suffer from allergies? Are you a little sensitive to wheat or dairy, perhaps the changing of the seasons? Were you also sneezing last week from the dust swirling off Viadoom? Hopefully your allergies are acute and not life threatening! Caudled Milk just heard that his 10 year old nephew, Lincoln's, food and environmental allergies have multiplied exponentially; when he has an allergy  attack his lips swell, his throat closes - shutting off his airway, and during his latest reaction, he started having cardiac arrest symptoms. The time allowance needed to race to the ER is becoming increasingly short. The solution they have found is to buy a specially trained dog that can smell things hidden in his food and in the environment that he may be allergic to. The problem is, it's $20,000 - the price of his life? More info can be found on this http://supersnifferneeded.blogspot.com/

Caudled Milk, in an effort to help save his nephew's quality of life, is trying to raise at least $1000. To do so he has decided to have a 50% off sale. Surely you have been considering adding another piece by Milk; now is a better time than any! He will be doing a series of posts throughout the week showcasing available works with reduced prices.

Here is the first round; works from his playing card series:

"Kid Gloves"

For my latest collage I thought I would do another post showing the stages from concept to completion. I found two figures where the sizing and direction of focus seemed to pull them together so I decided to oblige.
The background was suggested by the positions they would need to occupy to be proportional and the piece built itself up from there.

sketching it out.

the base colors.

building up a substrate.

filling in the main details.

adding little touches.

the figures get applied.

Lazing On A Sunny Afternoon

Yesterday I took a trip out to Mt. Si with the Slaugherhaus Rose Arts Collective to show off our Wall Of Found at the Sound to Mountain Bicycle Festival.  You may remember our set up at the Georgetown Carnival with the tape strips glued to a wall and then played with modified tape head madness!
Just across from our setup my collage "Envy" was on display as part of the "Inky Spokes" show of bicycle inspired art. And as an added bonus, the sun even came out!

"Apple Scruffs"

"Apple Scruffs", 2011 caudledmilk

This is a new piece that almost went into my Show at Core Gallery but wasn't quite the right fit. Which turned out for the best since with some quick work inside the ribcage it makes the perfect gift for a Beatles themed wedding.
